Hello, all. This is Sherry breaking into the parents' Blogger account (that'll teach you, Dad, to give me your password!!!!!). I just received this email from my parents today and it sounds like it might be awhile before they can post anything. So I thought I would share it with all of you and hopefully this will tide you over until they can possibly post a proper post.
"...we are alive and well in Johannesburg. We are dead tired and foggy headed but we are trying to absorb all the information they are trying to give us each day. Today (Thursday) we are excited because we have the afternoon off to shop for groceries, get some money changed into Rand (South African money), and TAKE A NAP! Anyway, we love you all, and are really having an adventure. There is too much going on for us to even be able to spend the time to try to explain it all to you -plus, we don't even understand much ourselves.
Dad drove this morning on the other side of the road. He did a good job! I was in the back seat. We can't sleep very well yet. Tonight [we are hoping] we can sleep through the night.

WHEW! What an adventure. Loved reading about it, too! Les just got out of hospital with an embedded kidney stone and is doing great. We had a wonderful YSA conference July 10 & 11 and last weekend the YSA's went to Randolph so you know we have been spiritually fed! Amanda Branson had her heel fused to her ankle the same day Les had his stone removal and she is also doing okay. Will read your blog to class tomorrow to get the YSA's informed about your blog and to assure you are in all their prayers as you are in ours. Love you, Les & Patti

ReplyDeleteWe miss you a lot. We are anxious to hear what is happening in our ward on the 26th of July. We will be out of town celebrating our grandson's first birthday. There is a strong chance that mon and baby will be living with us for a while. Weather is hot and humid, winter sounds very desirable right now. Hope all is well with you. Keep in touch. Hello SA Harms, from the NZ Harms. We are also having fun driving on the left side of the road. the roundabouts are the most fun- I actually like them, they seem more efficient. However, NZ has some rules of the road found no where else. I was told they did it on purpose so that they could be unique, or at least different compared to SA, OZ(Australia), UK, and Japan.
